Default Which VPS should I go with?

I think my bounce rates are so high on ThisArcade because it takes so long to load. I need to get a VPS that is faster than HostGators Swamp plan and can handle around 7-8k UV per day. It needs to be close but preferably under $120 per month.

Here is what I have found but I can't for the life ove me under stand what the technical specs mean.

http://www.lunarpages.com/virtual-private-server/
http://www.wiredtree.com/managedvps/
http://www.gate.com/dedicated-server...ed-servers.htm
https://www.liquidweb.com/cart/content/vps/VPS/Plan2
http://www.thegridlayer.com/products...te-servers.php

I don't know what spec makes things load faster and I don't know the minimum specs I need for an arcade with 7-8k UV per day.

Also when I find the VPS I need I will be looking for someone to split the costs with me. So anyoen intereste PM me.

https://www.rackforce.com/index.php?do=dds200 is pretty good.

$59 mo
20gb storage
10mbps unmetered

Only downside is its plesk (i hate plesk).

I actually have used rackforce for my dedicated servers for almost 3 years now and they have been amazing ... great support.

Would that make my pages load faster? And is 20 GB storage and 512 MB RAM enough for a mid to high traffic arcade with 1000+ games planed?

How much storage space are you currently using?

18 000 megabytes = 17.578125 gigabytes

18,000 megabytes would be 6,000 3 meg flash games.

https://www.rackforce.com/index.php?do=dds400 This one looks good also. But what is DDS Monitoring? Will I have to know any thing about updating the server doing anything myself to the server?

I am only using about 2.5GB storage right now but I am currently adding ~90 games per month and it will go up when my site is bigger.

Get server management. That way you don't need to perform updates to your server, you can just ask them.

DDS Monitoring = DDOS protection (I think)

I think its just $10/mo for their premium support.

Like I said, they are really good at responding to support tickets, etc.

I think your looking in totally the wrong direction with this. The only way that the slow loading could be attributed to your vps is if your getting a lot of simultaneous connections that are hitting a bottle neck (usually the db). The problem to me looks like your sites front end which I believe a team in yahoo said attributes to 80% of the loading time of a website.

So what I would suggest is that you check your site with this tool http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/ and make changes accordingly. Your sites index pages is 1.22(ish) megabytes which is just too much. For example the header image http://www.thisarcade.com/images/flash-games.gif is 21.54kb alone which is a lot for one image could it not be optimised at all? remove or optimise any images you can. your .css file is huge!(41.5kb)( consider that mine for allarcade is less than 7kb) try optimising it with this tool http://www.cleancss.com/ but keep a backup that you didn't optimise as well. Also optimise your .js file(s) by getting rid of any whitespace, again just keep another copy that still has whitespace for any changes.

Also try to get your site to validate as html 4.01 strict. Xhtml is pointless at the moment because it's not supported enough yet. The better your site validates the less work the browser has to do to fix problems. You could also cut down the number of games per category on the front page to 4 instead of 5 consider that that alone could nock around 100kb off the size of the page. Think about how this would save you money not having to upgrade, and also how it will reduce your bandwidth usage.
