Question for larger arcade webmasters

This question is for those of you who, like me, run on dedicated servers.
So basically I want to know what kind of a server setup you use to run your site.

I currently have

AMD X2 3400
1 GB DDR RAM
3TB Bandwidthwidth

Right now at around 150,000 to maybe over 200,000 pageviews a day thanks to an influx of Korean traffic, the number of Apache connections is making my swf files extremely slow.

I may have to upgrade the 3TB bandwidth too at some point along the line.

If you have a site bigger than mine, what kind of a setup do you have?

It was good until about 11 or midnight when alot of Korean Traffic hit it at the same hit. I know its not a ddos attack because my adsense stats show that the traffic is legit traffic, but the load must be at least 20 or so. I've already had about 15,000-20,000 uniques in the hour and a half today.

Is that Korean traffic making you any money?

Consider round robin load balancing if cost is an issue. If not, go for a clustered setup.

Buy another server for the swf files only. Or 2 more servers: one for the sfw files, one for the mysql and the one you already have for the other files (img,html, php etc).

Also, (that's what my server admin did), you can try adding a second ip to your dedicated server and installing lighttpd and use it to serve the swf files. But my server is a bit bigger than your (Intel Core2Duo E6550 2x 2.33 GHz Intel, 4 Go DDR2)

Finally, maybe you should just consider blocking korean traffic ?

I would suggest a larger server also. Running @ 20 is WAY to high! Have you opened up SQL connection and cleared pagefile?

You guys are just confusing him.

All you need is a better server, then you can transfer your site to the new server.

The server you have is not very good.
I'd reccomend going with Softlayer and getting a Xeon 3060 with atleast 2gb.

You might also want to try out RackForce.com ... been with them for almost 2 years now and they offer great prcies and support.

Also like Fhad said, is the Korean traffic making you any money? If they are just eating up your bandwidth with no return, I'd suggest routing all that traffic elsewhere.

Yes, Mesa is right, you should get a better server with a better CPU and much RAM.

Now, I have 2 and I ordered a new server with 8.

... but, in no way, you should drop some of your traffic !
