Most of the spam bots are designed to actuall run the functions used in common scripts.
Not sure of an elegant means of dealing with it but renaming the functions in your sript and adjusting or removing the links to them seems to have a good result. It was my tell a freind on one site that was being used. So I took half a day and found everything and changed the function names, seemed to take care of it. I am sure there was an easier way..!! there has to be. But like I said it seemed to work |

It's also very possible that they are not really using your e-mail account at all, just spoofing it. Have you checked to see if your bandwidth is actually affected by this? If it has not, chances are that the SPAM might be being sent out from another computer, but your e-mail address being inserted to make it seem as if it was originating from you. If any of it is bouncing, check the IP addresses in the e-mail headers and see if the corespond to your server. You might find that they are from some other part of the globe instead, particularly China or the Old Soviet Union teritories.
I started getting e-mail "bounced" back at me a thousand at a time a while back, saying it was from my server, but from an e-mail address that does not even exist. The Spam had IP headers from some other computer, somewhere else. That's part of how spammers work I'm afraid.

Correct Brendgard.... Look at the headers and that will show the origin server and path.

They could also be spoofing your web address which I don't think you can do much about.
