Hi,
I've just noticed GSS now has a highscore add on (although its an extra $95). How important is it to an arcade site for the players to be able to save the highscores? I'm just wondering if its worth the extra cost? thanks vizplay |

Of course also note theres i think more than a thousand games with it. Anyways Highscore addon gives the players the feeling that what they are doing is achieving something.
In a way similar to the xbox live achiement system It lets them compete with others on games in a fair way and have their name crowned as WINNER (GOLD) which is a really smart addon I would really like this but the price is too much at the moment heres a example Arcade Temple - High Scores |

It gives the user more reason to return to your site. They may even become a fan and play 24/7. Flash games by themselves are kinda boring usually. Add some friendly score competition and the games are more fun.
I have 2 high score arcades and I started them just for the fun of it. They earn enough revenue to pay their bills and then some. But for arcade owners who's #1 priority is to bring in traffic and get ad clicks, the high score mods might not be what they are looking for. |

Well... to keep track of high scores most scripts require the user to be registered and logged in to submit. I think that the large majoriy of arcade traffic doesn't want to take the time to register on arcade sites. So it might not be worth the troubles, but it shouldn't hurt anything to add the high score mod to your site. Just make sure that it's set up so guests can at least play the high score games without submitting scores. Some of the older high score arcade scripts wouldn't allow guests to play them.

I think it could be an added benefit because if someone plays a game and completes it, that's that and they will move onto the next game. But if it has a high scores board and they complete a gain, but their score is only slightly below the highest score on the board, then they may end up playing it again until they beat the highest score.
