Free PHP Editor for us n00bs...

Not sure if anything about this program has been posted before but I'm new to trying to edit my Arcades PHP files and after 5 months I was getting tired of trying to do it in "Notepad" so I searched around and found ALLEYCODE that is a free PHP, HTML, TEXT editor, etc. editor and boy it sure makes it easier to deal with these files and it has a lot of features. So if your a n00b like me check it out here: AlleyCode.

I think SpankyBear might have turned me onto this one, I'm old so I don't remember.. hahaha

Another great one that I use is PSPad. It again is free and best of all it can run off of a usb thumb drive. This makes saving all your settings and carrying them with you everywhere you want to go so easy.

I also have mozilla Thunderbird(email client), and Filezilla(ftp client) on my thumbdrive, this allows me to take my work to any computer and not leave a trace behind. Great for working on sites while you should be working at work.

It may sound crazy but I am partial to notepad....It IS Simple! But PHP editors especially the free ones are a great help!

The best editor I have found is called notepad2
Its basically just an updated version of notepad, same interface etc. but it will detect the language you are writing and highlight your syntax accordingly which makes life So much easier. Plus when you highlight a bracket it will also highlight its opening/closing paired bracket which is extremely useful for finding those annoying errors that pop up because you forgot to close a bracket somewhere.
