The rel attribute is to label the relationship between the current page and the linked document or page. This is not supported in any of the major browsers and will be ignored, however some search engines will use it.
wpls is meaningless I believe? The main one normally used and abused is rel='nofollow' is googles hint tag for this could be an untrusted external link. All of those search engines will understand, but it's also used by local tracking systems as well to track link CTR and stats because you can tag all links with whatever you want "home" "external" "topgames" etc So with the 'wpls' it's probably something with wordpress but im just guessing on that because it could be anything

Check here: http:// kidsbedroomfurnitureworld.com/friends/ yoursite.com yoursite.com will appear... after, click in the logo (to go to Home) and you will see the site below in a post... (there you can check the code for the site to see the rel="wpls") Basically I receive an email with my site on it, asking me to put a link back to their site.. admitting that they had created the little post about my site. (Spam and Scam) (if you delete the cookies and go directly to the Home page you will see no site on it) |

you can create your own 'rels' same as you can create your own classes/ids. You would use them with javascript to track link clicks etc

Nice find Nedrago. I think I got those kinda emails too, but I just deleted them. Even if the post is real, I don't think it would be any benefit.
