Hello,
As in my response to you, I dont know of any exchanges that accept SWF's. SWF can be coded to open multiple sites or launch things. GIFs are the preffered to use on a banner exchange. You can still use your banners if you get someone to buy directly from. RickyG

for swf the size must be small. better to have a gif animated banner though (most acceptable banners are gif/jpg/png) My site accepts swf banners, but i have to use a script like so (AS opposed to using an anchor < a > tag- when I place the advert: Here is how to embed a 468x60 swf banner (width and height can be changed for any size banner though): Quote:

Ahh, well That might be hard to find- you can always customize the swf banner for multiple extentions- upload to server/copy and rename, change banner.swf to banner.gif, then download it,and you can then use that I suspect- simply upload the gif version to the exchanges, or url hotlink. that way you can still use your adverts on exchanges. You can still use the swf banners on sites like mine where you purchase ad space though if it is 50kb or less and they host it as opposed to hotlinking the file on your site (that eliminates any issues with launches). |

There might still be a few but I highly would not recommend them. There used to be a lot, but people started using flash banners to install viruses, redirect automatically, show popups, etc. Many of the ones that did not start disallowing SWF format died out due to negative talk about them for this reason.
You can ask them guy to export the ad in animated gif format. If he gave you the FLA source file you can do it yourself if you have flash installed. |

well you would think the ones who made my banners could have mentioned this before they made them swf format, not good business practice especially if they want repeat business...sheesh another hundred dollars down the drain...Crap!!!!!

Send me an email, and attach all the swf banners and I will send them back to you with the same banners in .gif format. Any exchange will allow you to use the gif versions of the banners. |

Also the comment about the creator of the banners should have known or said something, just an opinion but you should have known what you were buying, and explicitly requested gif format with a max file size of 50k which is widely accepted across all banner exchanges. Take this as a lesson, always research what your buying, where you are buying from, and the specifications for what you are using it for. In end always watch out for yourself, and research everything |
