What's more important?

Hi:

I want to know what is more important page rank or ad placement. Many people post their page rank but if I where to buy advertising which of the two should I look for?

Huh? PR doesn't matter when buying ads. Traffic does. Better ad placements gets more traffic.

Yep traffic stats and ad placements are what you should be most concerned with. Never place and ad with someone who wont share basic traffic information with you. And make sure you know how many ads they are going to rotate in your chosen spot as well.

Man it is getting so a guy can't even write a 5 paragraph post these days. Both you guys come along summing up this book that I had ready to cut n Paste here LOL. Seriously I completely agree with what gamehopper & staaleno said. You want to know about placement and traffic you might also look at the origin of that traffic if your offer is geared towards only USA traffic. PR has no bearing to anyone but us webmasters and domainers.

I agree with hitsfree too, But only if there is a choice between two sites with the same traffic and one has a higher pr.

But if one site has 500 uniques per day and a PR5 and another site has 50k uniques per day and a PR3...going with the pR5 site would be stunningly stupid.

PR only affects text links with anchor and the importance of that is also decreasing. PR=Pointless Rank!

I don't agree with Hitsfree and there are commercials on TV now warning you about the dangers of doing so LOL. I agree with Fahd instead who knows what he is talking about and gamehopper who pointed out the only logical scenario to agree with hitsfree's statement.

Page rank is just a measure of a site as derived by big G and no one can say EXACTLY how that is done. A site can have only 20 links from high PR sites and be PR4 - 5. Buy all the ads you want on that site but it will mean nothing if you are attempting to sell anything or derive traffic to your site. PR alone will not get you to the top of a Google listing for any KW phrase so how could this mean anything?

PR = Pointless Rank unless you are trying to unload your site on a weary webmaster
who listens to people like hitsfree.
