I'm curious to know what visitor stat tracker everyone is using.
Personally I've tried AddFreeStats, which got a couple great features including adsense click tracking and exit link. However I found that one lacking in alot of areas link visitor stay, origin and a few others. The second one I've tried and currently is using is StatCounter Which works great in most regards, but its not good at registering exit urls and link clicks made on my site which makes it an ok stat tracker, but not incredible.. So what are you guys using? |

google analytics tells you if a visitor came from a search engine, directly put your url in their address bar and clicked the enter button, or if they came from anotehr website, and if they came from another website it tells you which one, and what page. I cant really think of anything analytics DOESNT detect. Its the only stat tracker i'll use since the log is quite large for free customers. And all you have to do to get unlimited log is get an adwords account (not sure if you actually have to use it or not)

ah I see. Well that would work well for me as I'm already using adwords (to a small extent)
I don't understand why statcounter suddenly decided to send me alot of "no referral link" the last week or so. it has never done that earlier. |

Google Analytics is good for most things and the free stats counters are great.
But common sense and visual observation are essential, because as you know stats counters can't tell all. See Hall of Shame
