Default Is it worth builing an acrade nowadays?

Hello,
I'm trying to figure out whether its still nowadays possible and profitable to build an arcade / multiple arcades.

Scouting the market, never did this kind of thing before, just made a couple html5 games but thats about it... Considering whether its a good idea or not.

Any insights on this ? Can an arcade survive, being made from scratch, based just on fb and google adveritsing to attract attention ?

Thanks

Arcades can be very profitable, just need to market correctly.

If you're interested in a free script this is going into beta next week: http://pub.lagged.com/

I personally think it is a thing of the past. I believe its still good for famous sites, but your question is about starting arcade(s) from scratch. if i would need to choose something from scratch something game related, with hope to have longer lasting success, it would be maybe social games (FB game apps etc.), mobiles game apps on app stores, but surely not games on own website.

I do not believe in long lasting success in a traditional arcade (website) even in html5, as html5 comparing to game apps (hopefully still) has poor quality comparing to available games on apple store / google play. but im sure there are opposite opinions in this forum too

Yes it is popular to cheat (its called "marketing") with colorful and misleading ads (promissing "best games" on internet on the ad, but when clicked on ad they get same poor quality games as on thousands of other arcades) and maybe even get a clicks on the Adsense ads on your website, but i do not believe in getting returning visitors to crappy games (comparing to what is in the offer on google play / itunes app stores), simply because now time wasters have a choice of getting much better game apps on app stores than the ones webmasters can offer on their Arcade websites.

I will let you know soon. I am building one from scratch right now. Going hardcore style ..... if this doesn't work...it will never work.

I have made a prophecy and it would come to pass , this industry is not dead , it would rise again , if history has taught us anything , its that it repeats itself and there is nothing new . One day some popular star or person would spike an arcade game craze and only a few sites remaining would enjoy this era , the arcade business started collapsing early 2009 and its dead now ,totally dead to be honest , but I won't be the guy who closes his site when this sharp rise comes, many sites are dead and many dying (believe it or not these games are unique and retro , when someone is bored with all the high graphic games , he would need some classic shoot em up for variety ) friv.com gets 700,000 daily visitors , not mentioning other big fishes . Work hard, a neat site get a job and keep your site alive and watch and wait. Good Luck comrade

It is not a thing from the bast, people play from mobile, that's the difference. Apps are losing a lot of users while html5 gaming is growing, if you need html5 gaes PM me!

I received an email from flippa and they are selling an arcade site that makes $50,000 a month in revenue it says in the listing.

By that it tells me that arcade site are not finish just yet. I feel that if you have a really nice name & memorable with good games you would do ok. That game site that they are selling in the name has "games" and it's a .com
