Just found out I'm being hotlinked, little ol me,

coincastle.$d$e$/content/1320/Nodes-2.html

what can I do about this chap ?

I've seen this site link to games, instead of hot link, so you could write them.

Or your could just change the URL of your game.

There are other more technical options, but moving it provides instant gratification.

Am I missing something here? Aren't we encouraging hot linking by providing the code to embed our games...or is that different?

That's if your site does provide an embed code. The site he is referring to does not.

i see flasharcadegamessite does have a game code on his site.
i don't see a problem here.he does have a link to your site.
even though the code is meant for myspace type sites and non arcade sites,i wouldn't care if an arcade hotlinked a games if they're giving me a backlink.thats the whole purpose of the game code.

The link in his post is for the site coincastle.de which does not have the embed codes. But, yes the site in his signature offers the embed codes.

it's irrelevant if coincastle has a game code or not.

Man at least he has your link under it. I got guys even the bigger arcadez linking my games with no link back. But the game itself has my link in it. But i posted no codes for those games for a reason but they still did it and without a link to my sites.

So consider yourself lucky. Its only going to get worse. Don't worry yourself over a few hot links. I use to do that in the begining. Now i have been running sites for almost 2 years I don't care too much but keep an eye on the traffic that comes from them.

Just protect yourselves from those pesky hot linkers...

your right gaming guy, did'nt see the linkback beneath the game (eyes are getting weak in my old age), once I saw the linkback I guess at least the site owner is acknowledging the source so I'm going to leave it be.
