Embed Video on TA?

It would be great if we were able to embed videos on TA, not just YouTube but as many different services as possible.

Would the admin consider installing the Automatic Emdedded Video mod for Vbulletin:

That one isn't supported anymore.

I don;t like people embedding videos into their posts.

Any particular reason why not? I can't be any worse than having oversized images inserted into posts. And after all you are free not to press play on embedded videos are you not?

Plus, some sites have content not suitable for some people on this forum.

Ok so perhaps I'm being bloody minded about this, but I really fail to see the connection between some dude posting a raspberry photo and allowing people to embed video in posts. Are you saying that there's some sort of hierarchy amongst media of expression?

Surely it comes down to personal judgment as to what's acceptable to post on these forums. If you're implying that people can't be trusted to post appropriate content, then I'd say that's totally misfounded.

I personaly dont allow videos on my other sites. it is hard enough chasing the bad guys away and this could open up vid porn.

Hallo,
Before you two flame each other to death i'll like to state this.

Having a option of this on TA is indeed useful when presenting or stating a post/thread. I would leave it to the users of TA's trust to post responsibly when posting a image/video onto the forum if i was mark anyway. Already the current TA members are careful what images they post to be on the safe family friendly side. I think giving them a embed videos option isn't dangerous and if the users have any issues with it they can always report the video like they do with images.

Besides if youtube approves it surely it can't be porn... - Rick

Please don't flame seriously... Alot of webmasters do read this forum you know...
