Ideas for a TA competition

With the recent spate of activity and renewed life in TA, it seems like a good time to capitalize and run some sort of member competition.

Now I have no idea what form it would take (that's where you come in!) but I definitely think we should go in search of sponsorship from some of the A-list arcades and/or ad agencies (mochi etc).

First of all, is there any mileage in this idea?

Secondly, do you have any ideas for a good competition?

[Edit] Thirdly, would TA admin endorse this if a workable idea came to the fore?

I really don't like the idea about conpetitions in here, I can't see the reason why to do it.

@EasyBannerExchange: a few of the reasons that come to mind:

Create a buzz and bring in new forum members
New members = new ideas/information/contacts
Broaden TA's scope and reputation
Offer a potential reward to forum participants
Connect people not usually associated with TA
Bridge the gap between elite and mainstream arcades
more to come...

Ok well my thanks to Peter Anderson for his initial support, but given the general lack of interest in this idea, I'll just assume that it wasn't meant to be.

heh, this topic has only been up for a few hours (very early Sunday morning in the US) I'm sure many others will support this idea. I think it's a great idea.

I would love to see a competition to help get more people on the forums. I would say that another referral comp would do the trick but a lot of us don't know many other arcade owners so it might not be fair. Especially because the big sites know way more and would surly win.

Maybe the person that starts the best thread in a 1 or 2 month period would get a prize. By best thread I mean about arcades, has a lot of replies / shows a lot of interest from the other members, has a great value for learning, etc. And then at the end of the month we all take a vote on the winner but you can't vote for yourself. Also you need a certain number of posts to enter.
