Default Arcade Top Site - Whats wrong with it?

I have had this top site for almost a year now and I only have 30+ users join. I have done some promoting, but I didnt have much response. I am thinking it might be the script or the design, which users don't like.

I would like your feedback, so that I can improve the site.

There are just too many topsites. I would say one is enough, but if you get a completely unique layout/design, it could work. It's difficult to market unless you can use adwords or other services.

I would agree that there are a surplus of topsites for arcades. Or most type of sites for that matter. Topsites are another hard niche to make take off, probably even harder than arcades. It can be done, but it takes a looooooooog time, lots of work, and God has to smile on you. One of the biggest reasons is that topsites don't always generate a lot of traffic for the members, so they drop the code, which results in less traffic for the remaining members, who tend to drop the code, and so on and so forth.

I also seen how though this thing is with my own top sites list, even worst... some users will not even add the code and still get free hits.. I look for those users and delete their account.

I suggest that you add multiple game related categories so you can have more submissions and find different forums to advertise

Good luck!!

So.. If the layout could get submissions why have you not added your game site to my list?

To be honest, I only used topsites for about 3 days and decided not to go back to them. I would rather bring in more natural traffic than push away visitors with those flashy banners. If there are no banners involved, I would definitely submit

I understand there are a lot of top sites out there, thats one of the reasons I decided to use a different script from all the rest.

You don't have to use the banner supplied on my top site, you can just use the referral code in a text link if you wish.

Hey..

yes you are right about sending away traffic with flashy banners, when a webmaster do any kind of exchange he must know how to keep more traffic than he sends out..

Natural traffic is better

Because most of the time, traffic trading just works better.

Here is an idea!
Give everyone who joins a hard link on the front page, maybe on the left column..
Just add some code to loop through your DB to generate the list..
The hard links will not be as pronounced as the top list "list", but at least members can count on a back link regardless of their position..

Sound good?
