My New Update

I just updated my site. I deleted the all of the ads in the header and then I put a Featured Games Box on the homepage with an ad next to it. Do you like the new look? Do you have any suggestions for me?

Also, anyone know any code for a header like the one on miniclip.com? I would like to replace mine with one similar to that.

Which ads do you think I should take out? I took out the two header ads and two banner exchange ads. I also took out 3 banner exchange ads from the footer. Do you just think there are too many of those banner exchange ads right before the games list? You have to scroll to get to content. That is the worst part! That is why you get a high bounce rate,

Hi,

This is a constructive review so please take it as that....because I think that is what you are asking for.

I don't see a problem with your ads at all. However here are three things I see right off the bat......

1) Your site is very slow to load (at least for me) so maybe a better host would be in order.
2) When you go to play a game, its not so obvious to the user what to click in order to get to the actual game. (at least for me it wasn't, but I am currently stoned too so......well I guess many people are probably are so it might be hard for them too)

3) I see this arcade template everywhere........If I were you I would try to make it more unique.

That is as far as I got.....

But also,

I tried to PM you here on TA to give you my games list like we talked about and it said you were not accepting PM's......

I don't know if you knew that or not......

Otherwise.....................keep up the good work.

Thanks for the constructive critism. That helped me a lot. Right now I am working on changing the play game button to something a little more flashy, something that stands out.

I had no Idea that my PM was set to not accepting PMs. I have no idea what that is about, but I'm going to look into it right after I submit this post. I will PM you right now.

As for the the loading. Some people say its the ads, some say its the host. Could it be the script? Every site that uses the ArcadeScript.com script seems to load rediculously slow. Like arcadedude.com, demo.arcadescript.com, and arcadenano. Those are the only ones I know of that use it.

I will try a new host though once my time is up with the one I am using now.

As for the template. I'm trying to find out ways to make it unique. I got a custom header, I added stuff to the header bar. I'm trying to figure out a new header bar for the games categories (PM me or post if you can provide one for me). I'll try to edit the games list headers in photoshop to make them unique. I added some custom boxes too. If you have any more ideas please post or PM me.

I haven't seen ArcadeScript's code, but I doubt it's that making it slow.

I would remove a few banner exchanges ( which could make the site slow because banner exchanges use iframes and iframes = slow) + make your content so that the use dont have to scroll down

I just whipped up a new "Play Game" button. It's a pretty n00b button because I don't have photoshop on this computer so I used gimp. Do you like it better than the one I had before?

the text doesnt stand out from the background change the text or background color a bit more on the play button
