flashtrackz...

I would appreciate it if you got your own title bg's and color scheme that isn't EXACTLY like mine please...

Your title, font color, and blue is exactly the same as blitz.. :-(

Flattered but, I in the long run you will want your own unique design, not mine.

:-)

I was waiting for a reply from you, so thanks for the feedback. Back to the salt mines!

The color scheme isn't actually exact, though some do match. I spent a long time on the blue hues for instance trying to find something that was in the same RGB range as my header which I've had for some time...

Well, looking at your .css...

Very bottom of your .css = blitzgamer's ripped w/ minimal changes...

I mean, its pretty obvious that you copied the colors and maybe changed the hue 1 point..

I think the general layout is good, but using a different image for your title bg would help great..

The blue and orange are identical to the naked eye.

I can't get upset about colors, but the title bg is the same and the .css was ripped.

Its an obvious rip, but good to see that blitz is not mad and is willing to work with flash.

Request noted re: title background.

Re: css, at the end of the day we're talking about common HTML tags and styles, so I think that's a bit funny but to each his own. Changing variable names doesn't change the fact that similar HTML styles are applied.

eg

.foo {padding: 2px; }

Isn't exactly something I would discourage other people from using because it shares the same variable name. Changing the ordering, variables, or numbers has 0 effect on the look. IE It's a red herring.

I don't consider it a mistake at all. A variable name has nothing to do with the look, and HTML styles are there for a reason.

What I should have done is waited for the cutover until I had some more input from blitz on uniqueness factor but alas I slightly misjudged the reaction .

When I said "At least you admit your mistake"

I was referering to what you said about stealing his image

ie

"Renaming a file doesn't change where it came from, and yes that is where it originated,"

but ok....you win......you didn't steal his image or his css or any of the look and feel of Blitz's site. Nice Job Then! You are a great designer.

Props to Blitz for being so patient with you.

Something tells me you enjoy very much writing these types of notes as I'm sensing a theme here . I think you'll find that I'm quite level headed and reasonable. I wasn't asking you to tell me I was a great designer. I'm asking for reasonable input to a reasonable query, nothing more. I don't count some of the points as constructive criticism, rather mostly they are designed to provoke and that is entirely your perogative.

"Stealing" CSS is BS; it's a style sheet for goodness sakes. Using an image made up of 2 different pixel colors is also debatable, but whatever. I wouldn't have posed the question here if I wasn't looking for constructive criticism.

The only real patience required is dealing with criticism that is not constructive.

Best regards.
