I really need to visit this forum more often

While making money is definitely important and probably the reason most people try and start an arcade business, it's the wrong focus when you're starting out.

For example, if you're running with 2k daily visitors and making $15-$20/day... you might be able to squeeze an extra five bucks out by really focusing on your revenue and playing around, optimizing it all, etc etc... but is an extra five bucks going to really build a true business for you?

Assuming you have a solid foundation, i.e., a respectable product (unique site/content) - which a lot of people don't have - then your one and only focus should be on driving traffic. That's it. Money follows traffic.

There are plenty of sites that generate tens of thousands of dollars monthly. The really interesting thing about the internet is that when it really boils down to it, there aren't that many secrets. 95% of everything you need to know is right in front of you if you're willing to learn and study.

More food for thought - I appreciate this forum for what it stands for, but let me ask you a question. If having a very large and successful arcade site is really your end goal, why are you spending so much time giving and taking advice from sites that are in the same shape you're in?

There are so many more important questions that you should be asking yourselves.

What is the value of a visitor? *Critical question to know the answer to, yet 98% (a made up statistic, but probable guess) of arcade site owners probably have a hard time giving a clear knowledgeable answer to*

I don't mean to be harsh or rude, but if you want to do something different, you need to think different. This isn't just about arcades, but a general life lesson.

This is an amazing industry. Don't do what everyone does - do what successful people do.

Default Well money or not !!

I don't know if Chris is right or not, but, that seems to be the way to go in any case. If you are running an arcade site there are a few points that are cine qua non
1. Massive traffic - what good is a gaming site is people don't come and play.
2. If your ate has a massive traffic than you have to spend money to upkeep the site.
3. To keep the site in top shape you spend money - so by corollary you need to EARN.
4. To earn you need ads.
5. CPM ads are the most secure.
So nothing new here just plain logic.

Your numbers sound unrealistic, but I assume you were not speaking literally.

One of my sites makes about 1c per UV. So those numbers are very realistic.

I doubt that it would be just one company but a few combined. I wish I got that much though... if I did I would be laughing though I don't put as much effort in as some of the other guys.

Intergi + AdEngage + VCM + CPMStar + MochiAds. All those add up. But most of those are just my Intergi default ads.

Haha, I wish Intergi would just accept my application... not a high enough Alexa ranking... thats the biggest load of (@*# in the world... I get the traffic requirements... Oh well I will have to make do with my cents...
