Guide to making more revenue.

Hello these are just some tips and suggestions.

Ever go to a site and see tons and tons of pop ups or excessive ads? Well I have, I wanted to let you know that people that do that are desperate for money, there site does not make hardly any revenue... so thats why they are doing it... the key to making revenue is all about ad placement and ad formats. Also ads that are being shown...

Us as arcade webmasters we have to take into consideration the following

Boys or Girls on our site?
How old are they 8 and Up... most between 8-19 years of age some older

Now you have to think what is it there here for? Games DUH!!!!!!!! so what type of ads should you show? (Animated, Flashy, Gamie looking ads..) works the best for all ages especially on a gaming site...

Also take into consideration most people are now over looking most ads because there so custom to seeing them so you have to place it where they would thank there would be the game content...

Also pregame ads dont work that well either... (Depending on the content)

I seen home loan ads on a game site (WTF!,) I was like ok.... If I was eight years old what would I need with a home loan? now dont get me wrong it is about 1-10 CPC but what is your CTR?

Yes, ad placement has a lot to do with the amount of revenue you make. In fact, there is an optimal placement that I discuss in my eBook.

I agree with you on the necessity to show relevant ads based on your user demographic. The home loan ads may pay high per click, but they make less in the long term!

And you run the risk of geting your AD account shut down because of targeted ads.

you can also monitor ads and choose the top paying ones in some networks

I actually play at many different arcades. I immediately leave if there are many popups....and so do my kids. It's just an instant turn off.

I also hate the ads from some CPM networks(eh hum ...CPX, Adbrite), as far as arcades are concerned. You know how many arcades I go to that have the nasty half nude chicks on the advertisements? Makes me sick! Too many children get exposed to that filth. My kids cannot play at those sites displaying filthy ads! I don't want them playing games while out of the corner of their eye they are looking at a girls rear end or cleavage looking right back at them....it's just disgusting really.

I have a big list of sites my kids cannot visit and I let other parents know about those sites too.

One more thing...I see some of the arcade banner exchanges are starting to display adult type ads and that really sucks!!!!

I think a lot of arcade owners don't realize that a lot of users are under the age of 16.
I am 16 years and i have a lot of friends who are also around my age, most are older, but they don't play that much on arcade sites compared to my 12 year old brother and friends! :O In my opinion the biggest group playing on our sites is 8-16. Showing adult ads or atleast 16 content ads is evil...
I don't really care about the ads, unless i get popups every page i load -.-, but i don't like the idea that my little bro are seeing these naked or half naked ladys all the time!

I would say the age range is 7-15. When you're 16 you're able to drive, and most kids will be on the road in their spare time.

Totally agree with you chaps, I had adbrite on my site showing the half naked girl, I soon gave them the boot, though they have $6 belonging to me. I'm not going to be showing their ads in a hurry.

The reason I started the arcade in the first place was because my 6yr old found an arcade with adult games - was'nt impressed.

I'm now using neverads which at the moment I like because you can choose which ads to display although at the moment their stats display and rotator is'nt working for me.

, but don't forget the europian people that have to wait till 18, for driving legal... :P
We can drink alcohol when where 16 here and buy softdrugs when 18, where i live...
