Yea. -.-
Yesterday I got around 3,500 impressions, with about 25 clicks, and only made .15 cents. And today I have already gotten 1000 impressions and 50 clicks, but only have gotten 0.09 cents. It makes me want to go back to using popunders, where I could be making a few dollars a day. |

Well, one thing that can definately hurt your bottum line with Adsense is show picture ads. I've been trying an experiment the last week or so to see if what used to be true still was. It used to be known that you got a better CTR by telling Google to use pictures ads instead of text, but a much much lower price on each ad. Seems it is still true today.
Another thing you can do is to tell Google to NOT use public service anouncements on your site if there are no relevant ads to display. This can be a real problem if you have Adsense configured to show only picture ads like some site do. If you go into your Adsense control panel in Google's website, you can tell it to use another ad if there are no relevant ads for your site. You do have to keep in mind though that you are running an arcade. very little will get shown on your site by Adsense except game related sites and they all pay very very low to begin with ![]()

Actually those .00 penny clicks were on text ads! My text ads aren't doing too bad lately overall, so I was shocked to see FOUR .00 penny clicks. It just wasn't logical to me how an ad click would result in NO revenue. I'd like to have some Adwords where I don't have to pay anything! SuperNova's reply cleared things up some; Google is actually paying out a thousandth of a cent instead of nothing.
I'm going to try a CPA ad in place of the Adsense image ads and see how that goes. Overall I know it's hard to sell anything to our target audience, so I didn't expect much from Adsense on an Arcade site. I had to post up when I got what looked like .00 penny clicks though! Quote:

Hmmmmm.... a thousandth of a cent eh? Things have slipped even more with Adsense. I was thinking they were the public service ads they usually run, like the Katrina relief fund I keep seeing. Than makes sense though. This is why so many arcade(as well as others) owners have been searching for a better alternative to Adsense for a long time now. Makes one wonder if Googles is starting to show CPM ads on the Adsense network.

welcome to adcents or in your case no adcents.
![]() a lot of people have this happen. it's either PSA,CPM,or invalids (most likely the same person clicking). you can see cpm clicks in advance reports. btw,fix the address of your first link in sig. also fix the site so it doesn't have the scroll bar in firefox.

This begs the quesion..
Has anyone who has experienced crappy adsense found anything better for arcades? My sense of adsense.. I have to pull thousands of uniques in one day to to approach $10 a day. I suppose this is fair. It further highlights the fact that acrcade ads pay ZERO. Here is an idea, you can now target adsense to read content from a specific part of your site. SO.. VERY BAD EXAMPLE HERE.. If you put in a paragraph on STOP SMOKING.. and target the adsense code to that paragraph, technically you should pull stop smoking ads. Now apply this to a topic slighly more relevant to arcades and maybe it will work. ![]() |
