The only people that would like them is the site owners, it doesn't help our visitors at all. They click a banner thinking it would lead them to the game displayed on it and they end up on someones homepage and probably wouldnt be able to find the game that they were looking for.

Hey, I think that static images are a good idea, though they should be used in a system more like plugs so you have a static image and a URL to your game and they just get placed as game plugs.

I find that game plugs attract better traffic than animated banners.

The world isnt vanilla!

I know as an exchange owner, when someone submits a static banner it will perform poorly! I als send them an email saying so.

Now if it does a .3 or lower....I am the bad guy. AND if your a paying customer that can be 5 cents a click!!

Sorry...if it is on a site that has animated....the animated will overpower the static.

Now, it the site has all static banners...then it might do ok.

Nice idea. I am actually in the process of launching a banner exchange with very stringent quality controls. Ex: Banners must reflect what is being advertised on the landing page/site. Obviously, I don't expect a large number of people to signup.

Rick your totally on the wrong end of the stick here...

What im saying is open a new part for only static banners while having the normal animated banners part. Least then webmasters and advertisers have a choice in the matter as its them who make the exchange work not the exchange webmaster him/herself because without the backing of webmasters and advertisers you'll be clearly heading into a wrong factor here.

I'll be trying this out on my own exchange soon enough with i fix it up this will atrract more webmasters into the exchange because of they have more choice then weather they want just animated or just static or both banners into there site as its there site not ours at the end of the day. Because if they dismiss exchanges completey there is nothing to build apon for a future for the site/exchange itself.

I know they may perform poorly but giving static banners there own part and animated banners there own part that way both will not be effected by each other. I know exchanges are like rhar CTR grrrr! but if more have this choice then the CTR would not be a issue as more would like this option rather than FORCED animated banners.

Ask some webmasters if there all floors with it because from my perspective they are demanding this to be slotted into exchanges.

Not on the wrong end of the stick!

Like I said...if it is on a site that has a mix, then the static will perform so poorly!

The webmaster must understand this.

Now, if the webmaster is crafty....they could blend the banners into thier page and make it look natural. Then it is a great idea!

How many will do this?

The webmaster must understand this.
You also must take into account that were are almost like advertisment company sites not saying we are but almost are. Because giving them this choice factor will be a good thing to use in the long term sure at first it will be bad but if many noticed this choice then more would move along side to this new feature hands down they would.

Well rather than not mix it make them not have a choice to have both animated or static aka its either 1 or an other.

Static may or may not perform poorly but were targeting all forms of arcade/gaming site webmasters here. And only focusing on the 1 thing which is animated only isn't such a good idea. THEY SHOULD HAVE A CHOICE IN THE MATTER!

The blending factor would work out good if done properly as ads seems to do well if placed into the correct places.
