Default Forums?

Anyone know how to add forums to onArcade? (not the onArcade Forums Beta, they are to basic)

Ones like MyBB and SMF.

Thanks

It would be a lot of work recoding either onarcade or the forum software to use the same database. Thinkarcade did it but there's a lot of spam posted in the forum software they are using.

I have contacted ThinkArcade loads, but they never answer me

Even by PM to the old owner at AWM.

EDIT: I just went and added the onArcade ones.

Peter it is an awesome task to integrate a forum and an arcade seamlessly. I have a mod for phpas to integrate with phpbb3 but even at that it has limits if you want to confirm accounts.

If you want to have a specific forum integrated seamlessly to a specific arcade script and that bridge is done to your design you are looking in in the range of mid XXX to accomplish it well, with a competent programmer.

Yo probably did best and just use the one Hans has done up and let it be!

That sux, I hate when things just fall apart.

My advice is forums aren't worth the trouble if your site is mainly dedicated to flash arcade games. Forum sites are very hard to get active. You can spend tons of money and be just wasting it. Forums need to have a niche and a bunch of kids goofing off just don't really post in forums much.

Before switching to onarcade my site, sadeyed.com was using the phpnuke arcade script which is just an addon for the phpnuke forum module. This was for about a year and we reached over 4,000 members. Even with this nice forum and tons of cool addons, we got about an average of mmm maybe 2 or 3 posts a month from members (not including staff).

There's probably even more dead forums on the net than there are dead arcades, what with all the free forum hosts out there.
