I want to add, that my experience with gamecetera is good.
I've played around with some 100x100 banner exchanges and gamecetera
1. worked great, and
2. send the most targeted traffic (some exchanges showed a bounce rate over 50% up to more than 60%! gamecetera is most times under 30%)

On the other hand my "experiments" weren't very comprehensive. No time.

GameCetera,
Did you do a deal with funklicks latey or partnering with funklicks? Noticed this during comparing banners and some other information...

Care to explain more into that? GameCetera?

No we never work before and do not work now with funklicks.

Lately they started doing banners very similar to ours.

But we are used to see banners we did for premium members on other networks used for other sites.

We constantly add new banners for all our users to use and especially for premium sites.

If I'm not mistaken funklicks manage this forum and may confirm this, if they want of course.

Thats really something considering you properly copyed something from theres also that maybe triggered that... But who knows might be something else or a user on funklicks making good banners for them.

what you mean by premium members? Don't you treat all members the same with the same respect as what funklicks does too? whats so good about using the word "premium" lol? Just makes you look taller or covering for parts which aren't so good i donno...

Anyway glad to see you spamming i mean posting around the forums

About funklicks:

Well we for sure didn't copy anything from funklicks. I cannot say anything about them since they are our competitors. And I say only good words or nothing about all our competitors.

About premium:
Under premium I mean sites which has CTR 3% and over. Those are considered as premium in our network.

This doesn't mean we do not love all our members. But just quality sites deserve for more attention and for them we have special offers and our support team more frequently check their performance and optimize their accounts.

It's all about the visitors quality. We want our members to get as much clicks back as they send to us. We don't want to take one site with good CTR and show it's banners on crapy sites with low CTR.

That's why when I say premium members I mean well established sites with quality visitors.
Everybody whom want to learn more about our services and what is different in our networks from others feel free to PM me.

About posting:
After I registered here I never login until few days ago. Just found topic where one person said our network is CRAP and decided to reply. I just want to know what site he is running and when used our network. Must be in the most bottom with tons of banners where nobody click or trying to cheat on us.
Yes those sites get zero results. And of course they will consider us as crap since cannot twist our network.

I cannot follow your argumentation (And it's the argumentation of all banner exchanges)

My experience is,
that there is NO relationship between the "quality" of a site and the CTR of banner exchanges.
The CTR simply depends on two or three factors:
1. Where is the banner placed? (above fold -> higher CTR, or somewhere else -> lower CTR?)
2. How many other banners and links are on a page(the more, the lower the CTR for a single banner)
3. How many visitors? (the more, the more steady the CTR)

I even consider a "quality" site to have lower CTR, just because of the fact that the visitors of a quality site feel less need to leave the page (click on a banner).

Well I may just say from our stats:

1. We have many sites which has our banner located above the fold and they has low CTR while other sites which has banner located much lower has 2x times more clicks.
That's why it's not question to locate above the fold or below. Everything depends on the site.

For example on many sites in order to play game you need to visit two pages. On first one webmasters place banners and link to game. People who visit that site already know where is link located. And never stay on this page long. So those impressions are useless for banner network.

And there are many examples for making more impressions. I hope all know about them.

And on those pages you may place banner on any place but it won't be ever clicked.

2. For sure amount of banner networks on one page has huge impact. That's why "quality" sites never use more than 3-4 networks and place banners in different places.
And again this is what I mean under quality term.

3. Amount of visitors almost has no impact on CTR.
Again from our stats I see many small sites which has CTR 3% and many big sites with CTR lower than 1.5%
If you just buy impressions from warez sites, popunders etc of course you have a lot of visitors but neither of them even see your site. That traffic used only for Alexa rank and having more impressions. Nothing more.

In my opinion low CTR is because of following factors:
- poor banners used
- banners located in places where nobody see/click them (e.x. too far from main content, proxy pages)
- untargeted traffic

I have two things to say:

Gamecetera - you're wasting your time in this forum - all they want to do is argue and flame you. You won't win, trust me.

Secondly, right up until the day I decided to not run any banner exchanges at all on my site, I very thoroughly tested out many banner exchanges, Gamecetera consistently sent me not only the most traffic, but also the highest quality traffic. Mark, the owner of Funklicks, can verify this as he worked with me trying to get funklicks to match the volume that gamecetera was able to send me.

If you put gamecetera in your highest ctr spot, you'll get the best results. What's more, if you deliver good quality and ctr to their exchange, they will design custom banners just for you which will increase your ctr received - I don't see any other exchanges doing that.

If I ever decide to put exchanges back on my site, it will be gamecetera first, then funklicks... the two best exchanges on the internet.

Don't waste your time arguing with these guys.

GameCetera has done some good work with their banners, congratulations to them. Tis true I've gotten some inspiration from some of them.

Perhaps he was referring to the FunKlicks bullet points that were used in the GameCetera homepage flash...
