Has anyone been effected by Ike? It hit the coast of Texas early Saturday morning/ late Friday night, and I've been without power since Friday around 11:30pm. Apparently I may have to go weeks without power, but who knows; I may get lucky. Luckily I've had a generator, and am using one of those verizon internet usbs to get internet right now. It's really slow, but better than nothing I guess. There are trees and fences down everywhere, but nothing large fell on my home/yard. I spent yesterday raking up leaves and branches with my neighbors. One tree fell on a State Farm office and caved in the roof. Hopefully they cover that, haha. I guess I'll just have to wait and see where things go from here. I've been spending some time lately working on an "unreal planet" for my site in photoshop.

Thanks guys.
You should see the lines for gas around here. Our gas supply is beginning to run low, and from the looks of it we're not alone. My father and I went looking for some gas today, and were met by lines that were literally miles long for the gas stations that are actually open. We found one HEB gas station that had separate lines coming from different directions for each gas pump which wrapped around the streets, and then went in a loop around a Wal-Mart parking lot. So no luck today. I managed to finish up clearing the backyard of debris though. The weather has been great today. I'm just glad that I don't live on Galveston Island. When watching the news earlier I saw that there were so many homes and buisnesses that were completley destroyed there. Many homes that were once on the beach are now in the middle of the water. I really feel for those people.

Power is being restored in order from the easiest to restore to the hardest. Today I heard that our power was attempted to be restored, but the workers blew two transformers in the process. Because they blew the transformers, we were moved back on the list of people to restore power to because it was more complicated than they had thought. So yeah, that's not good. Luckily we woke up around 5:30am this morning and managed to get some gas for the generator after waiting for a little over an hour in line.

Double post.
![]() Anywho, today we had all the neighbors over and grilled some dinner, but still have no power. We drove around looking for gas, only to find that all the gas stations closed before 8pm... It's kind of funny that the mayor wants everyone to have gas, yet the gas stations are shut down so early. We noticed that an HEB gas station was open, but when we drove up to it, there was a woman who told us that the HEB gas station was only open to HEB employees. That just pissed me off... How would you feel if you pulled into an Exxon and a person said that you couldn't get gas so that your family could have gas for the generator which powered your home, but Exxon employees could? Luckily a gas station called Race Way was still open, so we actually did manage to find gas after hours of driving around. There was a Shell station that appeared to be open, but they were out of gas. I was thinking of acting as if I was filling up, then waiting for a line to form. After a line formed, I'd tell everyone that the gas was for Shell employees only. Not the smartest idea, but it would be interesting to see the reaction for about 3 seconds before a mob attacked me.
