Default What's the most lucrative niche market?

I've hear people say time and time again that the arcade scene is saturated, so it's got me thinking about pursuing other streams of revenue.

Would anybody be willing to give some insight into other niche markets that are worth taking a serious shot at?

I know most people like to hide their trade secrets, but if you can give me some general ideas, I'll be more than grateful.

Cheers.

It depends on what you are trying to move if its adsense I find law sites the best for revenue. If its affils then it depends on the affil I like to go for the unique ones or the boring ones coz they are easier to dominate the serps.

I would disagree that the arcade scene is saturated. I started up a site in January (stumpygames.com) and have been doing quite well with it. The key is how you run/market it, not so much which market you are in.

Just my two cents...

stumpy, I agree with your comment but in your case I think you got a little help from friends already established in the industry which probably made it a lot easier for you.

Fair enough - I definitely got a leg up and some help - no denying that I would never attribute any success I have to anything but the people around me being super generous with their help and knowledge.

That being said, it doesn't change the fact that there is money to be made in the arcade industry, and that money is far from tapped out. I'm just saying that while it's always good to find little nooks and crannies to make money in, the venue isn't as important as the strategy and business model that you follow. No industry will make you any money if you don't do things in a way that will make you successful. On the other hand, even a "saturated" market like arcades can be super lucrative if you have a great plan and implement it well.

As I said before though - just my 2 cents. Maybe I'll think differently in a year's time after me and my family are out on the streets living in a box because my arcade crashed and burned

Well said stumpy!

The casual games industry is one of the fastest growing markets right now. Its a $1.1B a year industry the last I did some research.
