Default Quick question

I am co-owner of a hosting reviews site, and the other owner wants to use affiliate links.

Would you trust a site with them?

(Trying to prove they are WRONG)

Hi Peter,

Are you trying to obtain trust or income from this website?

By using affiliate links if the website ranks well and obtains a fair bit of traffic you will be able to obtain some good income.

Alternatively you can either offer your own hosting or find a good hosting company who you trust and promote them otherwise if you are doing it all out of good faith and to help people then just have links to the hosting companies websites without using an affiliate URL.

Use javascript to hide the affiliate codes in the links.

Put this in a php file. We will call it godaddy.php

PHP Code:
<?php header("location: http:// www .AffiliateLink"); ?>

Your link on your main page would point to the created page
PHP Code:
http://www.peteranderson.com/godaddy.php

Another crafty way you could do it is load the affiliate site in a 0px iframe on the review page. Then that way the affiliate cookie would be set in their browser and you'd get paid if they click the link which you wouldn't have to put the affiliate id in.

I think what is more important than then use of affiliate links is the honesty of the reviews. If for example the host that gives the biggest revenue share happens to also have a glowing review about how they're so good would be a cause for suspicion. The reviews have to be 100% honest. If a host stinks then make sure to say so even if they pay 2x more revenue then any other host. That way people will trust you and see no harm in using your affiliate links.

0px iframe like that is called cookie stuffing, any decent affiliate catches you they will ban you for life, so be careful with that.
