Any of you guys got a ASUS p5K deluxe motherboard ?
I switch mine on every morning and it doesn't post beep, so I leave it on for 20mins, power cycle and it works (sometimes). It's whats called the cold boot problem (see asus forums). The only solution is to leave it switched on. Well the gist of the post is before you buy anything have a look in the forums. In a couple of days I'm gonna make a post on greenpeace forums and direct a load of activists at Asus because Asus energy saving stance ain't working. And if that don't work I'm sending Pico down handbag 'n' all .

Check the ram to see if it seated? Hw about the CMS battery? RickyG

Pico@ honey you need to see a shrink about your fantasies about being a man.
Ricky@ no beeps after cold boot i.e. in the morning but 1 beep after 20mins of leaving the thing switched on. I've swapped cmos battery 4 times, memory double checked if seated. Bios at default no overclocking whatsoever. I gave up trying to fiddle with it after seeing all the cold boot issues in the forums.

Maybe just compatibility issues with the hardware itself..
Have you added any extras onto the motherboard itself like graphics card ect? As it maybe that... that maybe the compatibility issue maybe... Oh i had this too that something was loose and had to shove it back into place that may also lead to your issue... Also lmao im a guy.. dam you! and your paperbag! |

I'm on bios 809, theres chipset heat issues (according to the asus forums) . Not updated anything components were all working before. tried different bits still no joy.
like the piccie eh , nicked it from the family album.

Hey,
I have a P5K Premium but I RMA'd it and now the replacement is just sitting unused. I got a P5N-T Deluxe while I was waiting for the RMA and I'm not going to bother going back to the P5K nightmare. Just get rid of it and move on.

you say it is a known issue,so why not seek info at that form?
 if it isn't the motherboard,my first guess is to try another power supply.

I was working as a tech/admin about the time of the A7V. I stopped using Asus then. I told the boss if he bought them HE would support them not us. Asus is still not among my first coice of MB. My suggestion is dump that brand. Feel free to send Pico down there to hit them with the handbag though.......
