I found this forum and am interested in starting my own arcade site.
I have a few general questions: 1) Which arcade script do most people here use (most popular)? 2) Which advertisers do most people use 3) How do you get people to come to your site besides SEO and paying for it? Do most people here trade traffic by putting links to other peoples games? thanks everyone, John |

Welcome to Talk Arcades, John. Glad you are interested in joining the arcade owner family.
![]() As for your questions, I will do my best to answer them to the best of my ability. 1. It all depends on your personal prefence. There are tons of portal scripts out there that are both free and paid. I use Arcade Builder myself, which sadly is a ripped version of GameSiteScript. 2. Again it all depends on your prefences and how you want to output advertising. There are banner/text advertisers like Google Adsense, AdBrite, and AdToll. There are also ingame advertisers like GameJacket and MochiAds. 3. Outside of SEO, search engines and paid traffic, there are link exchanges, top site listings and banner exchange networks that can all bring traffic to your arcade. Hope I helped you out a little. And once again, welcome to Talk Arcades. ![]() |

Welcome to the forums John.
1) I use onArcade, MAGS, GS v1, ASCMS, and a self written script. Right now, with my limited budget, I have to use shared hosting so my favorite is onArcade because of the SQL caching it offers even though I helped develop MAGS lol. 2) Most of what I use is Adsense, mostly because of a lack of time to experiment with others. If you own 15 different arcades, all 15 would be different and would probably do better with different advertising. The thing to do is play with it to figure out what works for each. 3) He hit it dead on lol hope that helps some.
