Hi Guys

I am a usual troll but I been reading everything I can get my hand on regarding arcades on blogs and forums like this. Man is running an arcade hard and the guy I bought the script from on ebay said I could make $1000's a day LOL. I work with my brother and we are trying to develop our own little network of sites and diversify. I have had 1 website geared around investing for 5 years now and we programmed our own software and sold it there but I wanted to branch out.

We are new to arcades but fast learners and I don't know if that matters or not LOL. I got an arcade up now ( in my sig ). We are trying to make some changes to the original script and trying different ads but traffic is slow. I get about 200 plays a day after 2 weeks and I don't know if that is good or a bad start but we are going to try and keep pushing our site. The hardest thing is that I have had 1 site for 5 years and now starting over with new sites ( I had forgot how much work this was ). This looks like a great forum here though and everyone seems nice so I will be around.

Hope you best of luck with your site, I know it's hard to run a site, I got a few myself...just keep it...many people say selling is good, sure there's the money, but in the long run...yours might be a top arcade.

I'd suggest for getting traffic to use arcade exchanges, like mine for an example Arcade Admin.com - A targetted ad network made for Arcades!, it is individualized for arcade sites ONLY. So that is a great targetted way to drive traffic.

Your site is pretty large..many games, thats good. Just keep on thing in mind. I have a 1280x800 resolution screen, and your page is bigger than that..some people only have 800x600 lol..

Welcome Digitali16. Your experience in other websites will probably come in quite useful in promoting/running your new one.

Welcome to the arcade world some useful instruction for you
1.Design the site without spaces or unique design
2.site width is very high
3.after this changes submit your site all search engines
4.Join some banner exchanges
5.if you can advertise
6.Add new games every week or month

Thanks guys for the input we worked on getting the size down some and we are going to do some more changes. Because we have a history with other sites it helps some ( still alot of work ) but there is a lot we can get done fast and on our own. I really would like to have Gubug become more than just an arcade website. We added the news feature and the what others are playing and the social bookmarking under the games and now we are working on RSS feeds.

After that we want to do some more web2.0 stuff to make Gubug more than an arcade and grow it to become more viral. I read lots of this forum and blogs etc.. and I can see that part of the problem is that it is just to easy for guys to put up an arcade now. Yeah you can tweak it but there are a lot of them out there. I got the script and had the name and got excited but I had no Idea of what I was getting into though. I might be completely crazy though but we just keep working on this every day LOL. I got other sites with Barely as much traffic but they make more money for us. I just can't stop the Idea that if developed right Gubug can be more profitable than all of them. Again I could be crazy from all the sleep deprivation LOL.

Anyway thanks alot for the tips and I will be around here. Clickthrough on the widgets went up some just from making the site smaller. The best help we have found so far is the Social bookmarking
some pages are indexed already and site is only 3 wks old or so. Also adding the rotating what others are playing keeps guys around more and we have not seen that on other sites.
