How about the older free ver no links

Hello Everyone.....

I'm new here and am the owner of http://www.arcadegamester.net , I also own http://www.egamester.net and found a old gamescript ver, the one that does not have linked games. The script is not the same as the newer freeware one, as it comes with 150 games loaded and you can load as many as you want with no linked games.

Ok I got it loaded and the database and all is good, it shows no errors at all and the game are there to load. The problem is when I try to add a category, it says it failed and to try again. I'm hope some one here can help me with this, or let me know where to start looking for the problem ???

I did password protect the admincp file, and am hopeful that will keep it from being hacked. It looks like a fairly nice script, I use phparcadescript for my other arcade. And wanted to try this free gamescript, so far it's a fairly thin, but with some mods could make a great acrade I'm sure.

This one looks like one I've worked with in the past. If it's the one I'm thinking of, I can do some mods up for you. But to be perfectly honest with you, at $60 an hour( or even $20 an hour) mods going to more expensive than they are worth when you consider that I sell a script already having 1000+ games(more than that old one will ever support without an extensive rewrite) for $20, one with 1300 games and more versitile/adaptable for $35, and you've already bought PHPAS so you know it's only $30. Mods can be done for it, but there aren't very many already out there so it will start adding up in the form of custom scripting. Is it worth it to you? If it is, let me know what you want done and I will look into it for you with pleasure.

As far as it not making new catagories, I'd have to do some troubleshooting to know for sure, but usually it's a misconection to the MySQL database. This one is already serving up games though so it's probably something else. I would need access to your cPanel and the admincp area to see what's going on, and what's not.

Then we touch on the fact that it looks like the old version 1 of GS which I don't believe they officialy released as freeware. If I remember right, it was just pirated to death and therefore people THINK it's freeware now. If they decided to do something about it, you would probably get shut down real fast until you could prove you had the right to use that script for some reason or other. Memory is starting to get a bit fuzzier though so I could be wrong on that one.

And you are right, it did turn into a great arcade script. I think they are soon releasing ver 4.0 soon.
