Default GameFeed Stats Update

GameFeed is 6 months old today, and I wanted to share some stats on its amazing growth. Things are moving so fast that the stats chart below is a bit out-of-date because it was graphed it last week. I'm hoping that sharing these stats will inspire more publishers and game developers to participate in our game distribution network.

INSTALLS - GameFeed has helped webmasters publish close to 13,000 games. Most publishers pick and choose the games they want, but a few publishers have published almost the entire GameFeed library. Many games are installed everyday, but the exciting part is that the rate of game installs is growing.

PLAYS - The games published via GameFeed have received over 2,000,000 plays. That is a lot of plays and the number is growing exponentially just like INSTALLS.

SITES - There are about 140 active domains in our network now, growing daily. A domain is any site that is using GameFeed to publish games.

GAMES - The GameFeed library of games now contains close to 1000 games. Games are being added at the average rate of about 4 per day. As game developers and sponsors learn the tremendous value of GameFeed, this rate will increase.

GameFeed is great for publishers because it is the only game distribution network that provides easy 1-click game installation, even with multiple domains.

And GameFeed is great for developers because it provides front-page exposure for submissions on the largest arcade webmaster forum as well as a proven distribution network for their games.

Thank you for your participation!

I'm curious, how do you now how many installed plays a game does on a 3rd party site?

The AutoPublisher can report this information back to GameFeed. Stats are collected on a periodic basis.

and I guess you will have to add to those stats people that install the games manually. I normally download the game and install it manually, so I am not sure that plays I receive will be reflected in this stats...

Congratulations for this great progress.

Thank you. Yes, those plays are not counted, however I think most are using the AutoPublisher because it makes publishing games so darn easy.

Based off gamefeed success, I just think you need to make sure it doesnt get saturated with crap like mochi.

Eventually you will have to build more and more filters to get rid of the crap that will soon be submitted here. Because im sure manual review is out of the question.

In all honesty the level of professional arcade webmasters that traffic this forum that along with developers, I think you should make a notice that jigsaw/sliding games are not to be submitted.

What do you guys think of this? As a publisher it would be easier to sift through the games and as a developer/sponsor our games are not shortly lost in a tidal wave of crap

That is a great point because I don't want to create a jigsaw category. These games are currently going in the Puzzle category, and it would not be good to have to filter all Puzzles due to Jigsaws. There are other options, like hiding games that don't get a high enough rating, thus we could vote the crap off. Another issue is there are already some existing Jigsaws from great members like gubugnet. Many questions here. Ignore? Ban? Filter?

I'm interested in what everyone thinks about this issue.

Not everybody like all games, you may not like jigsaws bud you like shooting games; I like jigsaws and donít like shooting games.
What I want to say is, if you offer a game distribution network, you should not just filter out some game categories you donít like as other people may like them.

Thanks for your feedback. The filters that I'm talking about are on a per user basis, which may be the best way to go in order to preserve the publisher experience using the network.

I think GamesFeed is doing great and well organized as with any distribution network you are going to have to dig in and find what interests you. You are the publisher & editor of your website so this is part of the chores you should be doing regularly. There will always be a good bit of jigsaw, dressup, memory,TD,shooting games etc... because these are kind of established niche. Always new Vampire books on audible now but the truth is guys into urban fiction like me will buy them again and again.

When we done our Jigsaw engine we tried to make one that would build the pieces different each time and one with multi levels for replay value. Also on the Scooby game most of those images were drawn from scratch. The point is that it is hard to just ban an entire category and you will have developers who put more thought and effort into a game in any category. In my opinion Gamesfeed is far, far, far away from the state that mochi is in right now and even on Mochi you can find content that will interest visitors if you take your time and look it is admittedly harder.
