Hi Everyone:
Could someone with wide screen monitor please look at http://dmsoft-wy.com/dev and give me an idea on the following questions? This is my development version of my arcade website I am working on, hopefully coming live in a few weeks. It is powered by Arcadem code, the the template is being replaced almost entirely. I have everything in the header contained within a header container. That container I have the width set to 100%. Now, how do I get the search box and the top ad box to float to the right no matter what the screen size is? (left items are fine) Feed back also appreciated and ideas, but please understand you are looking at work in progress using test data (a copy of the production version of my Arcadem atabase). A few interesting mods will come with this, but I will ask questions later. Please excuse the mess below the header as that is all I am focused on for now. I have to do the research for the main body part and teach myself enough CSS and PHP to get it done. Thanks in advance.

I'm kinda confused about what your asking but your site is very wide looking on a wide screen monitor and I generally prefer not to turn my head when viewing a web page.
There are a few arcades that use 100% of the screen space like http://freewebarcade.com/ and http://onemorelevel.com but I think one thing that is key with a design like this is choosing between a vertical and horizontal menu. Having both is a little strainuous on the eyes.

As for the CSS now, I scrapped what was there because the footer kept ending up below the header and the right column before it. I want back and rebuilt a "skeleton" to work with where the center column is fluid. Now my intent: The center column is the main focus. Left column I have plans for navigation and statistics Right olumn I have planned as follows: If user is logged in then search box displays. Otherwise featured will be first box. Second box is advertisement, probably 125x125 Third box is partners (link exchange) 4th box I have nto decided That explain what I am after? Center column will be major focus, but I wanted it fluid so that the game screen will fit better without having to always click the full screen mode. I also want to put the chat screeen in the center. The main question I am after right now is: how in CSS can I make an object float to the right and maintain the same distance from the right margin? It floats on top of the header background.

I never liked the default arcadem themes, anyway its my personal preferences. Probably there are too many sites with the default themes. You need a lot of work to create a unique theme.
Anyway, did you changed your website? Its now showing a free css template.

The skeleton that you saw is the "framework" for the new website coming in and that is at http://dmsoft-wy.com/dev The current setup is at http://dmsoft-wy.com. I am not a fond of default themes either. Several of them look alike, just different colors and a box rearranged here and there. Cookie cutter themes just do not help with SEO, traffic or anything. The main reason for me to change though is to teach myself CSS and PHP. I am a retired programmer so I should be able to figure it out in time. Need to find a PHP5 manual. I am sure the bookstore has it. But picking up good bits and pieces here and through internet searches.

Converted to new look. Please give me some input. I think it's much better than the cookie cutter templates I was using. Please let me know if any issues. I don't have wide screen and wondering how it looks on that and on Firefox.

Still doing that? You may of tried to access when I was upgrading from my development version. If it's still doing that, what is your screen resolution and what browser you using?
