Question What should I spend my earnings on?

I am getting my first big (to me at least) payment of about $180 this month and don't know what to do with it. I am doing SEO at the moment and am getting very close to the top 10 for my 3 arcades. Should I spend it on advertising or should I use it to buy paid directory links to boost my SERPs? I would like to try advertising again but when My money is gone most of the traffic will be too.

Any opinions?

I'd say a combination.

Have you utilized all the regular directory submits yet?

But, if buying paid directory links or buying advertising are the only two options you have, then I'd go for directories, long term over short term results anyday. But,, I never have bought any directory links. I just focus on the normal links to boost my serps from that source. There are so many...

I would focus on non paid links more than paid ones. Google has been penalizing paid links lately. Nobody is quite sure if that means just the ones selling links as it looks like up front, or if in the long run the sites paying for them as well. I would go for long term results over short term as well. And I also agree as to doing multiple things rather than all your eggs in one basket. Try some thinking out of the box. Try some advertsiing that is a bit out of the norm for an arcade site with part of it maybe. Maybe hold a contest or raffle? Maybe try advertising offline? If you try what everybody else is doing, you blend in with them. You want to stand out.

Just my opinion of course, YMMV.

Thanks everyone. I mostly don't pay for links in directories but when I did it helped my SERPs a ton. I would love to buy a license for a game like MULTRI did but I don't know where to find a good one for this low price. I mean it has to be good enough to not get BLAMMED by Newgrounds. Also some videos on YouTube would be easy enough but I don't know what software I need. I have also been thinking of hiring someone to write some unique articles with my keywords in them.

I don't know what script you're running, but a lot of them run videos right from the box. Of the ones that don't, most of them can be modified to run video without much problem.

I have no problem puting videos on my arcades. I don't know what software I need to make the videos myself. My laptop is made for media maybe I just need to look around a little more.

Since you are getting some SEO results, don't go crazy with your links, you don't want to raise any flags. But if you are interested in submitting to directories, I'll throw these URLs at ya...
