Here is my list of most important factors for good seo ranking:
1. anchor text on other sites linking to you - try to target specific keywords for every page
2. page title - try to mention your main keyword at least once for that page
3. h1 tags - try to mention your main keyword at least once for that page
4. h2 tags - good for long tail keywords around main keyword for that page
5. content - lots of text and often mention your main keyword, but be careful not to over optimize
