I am just floored to see Andrew pack it in like this. Andrew you have a really cool way of looking at things and I think this niche needs more guys like you. I certainly understand wanting a more profitable niche however. I just try and think long term and I honestly expected our work to outweigh our revenue in this niche about 5 or 10 fold for a while. The big payout to me in arcades is that when you can make it here any other niche will be much easier for you. More guys should not have the idea of running 3 - 5 sites at once in the beginning because I think it dilutes your efforts to much. This has also saturated the arcades to much as well in my humble oppinion.
Man I hate seeing talented people come and go anytime online because we need guys like that. They raise everyones game and spark new fresh ideas . This is the only thing that really has me worried about arcades because when the young people ( new webmasters ) leave the stands it usually means that industry is in trouble. When young people stopped coming to regular arcades it meant trouble long term. I feel the same about young fresh designers leaving arcades. Andrew I might be interested in fingermonkey if you want it to have a good home some day.
